Going into our local county jail to have Bible studies with inmates is an avenue of ministry opened to us by the chaplain’s office. Other opportunities for ministry are providing Christian books for their library and writing to inmates. Here is a sampling of responses from inmates:
“I appreciate your letters more than words can say. When you get mail it makes a person feel like someone cares.”
“Thanks for writing and wanting to get to know me even after you learned I was in prison and why.”
“Thank you so much for your letter. I don’t get many, and my parents are kind of mad and disappointed with me so they are not writing.”
“Thank you for the Scripture. I can never get enough.”
